He has taught night school to students seeking to obtain their GED; has volunteered to teach weekend SAT preparation classes for a local church; and serves as a mentor to young African American men in the Atlantic County area.

Brother Hill strongly believes that children thrive when they have strong support systems in their homes and community. He learned this from his own experiences as a child.  His first role model was his father, Brother Marven F. Hill, who was also a longtime educator in Atlantic City, before he retired, and very active in community service. Now, Marven D. Hill has provided his son, Kyle, with this same support system. Father and son have always been inseparable.  In fact, Marven D. Hill is quick to tell anyone that his is greatest achievement has been raising his son Kyle as a single father. Currently, Kyle is a Junior at Stockton University, in Pomona, where he is studying Computer Information Systems.
