Bro. Leonard V. Jones, MPA, Esq., is the 12th and youngest brother to be appointed District Director of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. for the District of New Jersey. Bro. Jones has been engaged and committed to the Fraternity since his initiation, serving as Chapter President at the college level; District Parliamentarian; Chapter Advisor; Chief Dean; and Director of Education for the Eastern Region. In his 10 years of active membership with the Fraternity, Bro. Jones has remained committed to the values of the Fraternity and moving the District of New Jersey forward. As District Director, Bro. Jones has put forth a bold vision to ensure that the New Jersey Brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha are transforming the lives of the people of our great state, with a focus on men of color.

Bro. Jones a civil litigation attorney with Chasan, Lamparello, Mallon & Cappuzzo, PC, in Secaucus, New Jersey, focuses his practice on contracts, governmental entity representation, labor and employment law, and represents individuals, municipalities, counties, authorities, and school boards in various litigation and compliance matters arising under New Jersey’s Tort Claims Act (Title 59). Bro. Jones also served as an Assistant Prosecutor with the Union County Prosecutor’s Office, prosecuting cases involving narcotics, violent crimes, and economic crimes. After law school, Bro. Jones clerked in the Union Vicinage of the Superior Court of New Jersey for the Honorable James P. Wilson, J.S.C.

In addition to his leadership within Alpha Phi Alpha, Bro. Jones is also active with numerous community organizations. He is active with the Union County Young Democrats in Union County, New Jersey; the New Jersey Chapter of New Leaders Council (NLC-NJ); the Garden State Bar Association (GSBA); and the New Jersey State Bar Association (NJSBA).

Bro. Jones was born in Monrovia, Liberia, and raised in Hillside, New Jersey, by a single mother. He earned his B.A. in Political Science with a minor in English from Seton Hall University, an M.P.A. from Seton Hall University, and a J.D. from Rutgers School of Law.
